Re: Residential Schools Missing Children
Piikani Nation Chief and Counsel recognize that there are plenty of questions with respect to potential unmarked graves around the old residential schools. We want members of our Nation to know that we are dedicating significant time and resources to this issue. We will keep the membership notified during all stages of this process.
Any work we do on this matter will informed by the membership, Elders, youth, Department Managers, Mental Health workers, and expert consultants. We are currently in the planning stages of the work and we are assembling a team to tackle this pressing and sensitive issue.
Shortly, we vvill be asking for expressions of interest from community members that want to be involved in this work as a member of our working group. A
