The Chief and Council and Piikani Nation is expressing its deepest condolences to the Tk’eml¨ups the Secwepemc Peoples. We also mourn the deaths of the 215 children that died in the care of Canada and the Churches at that residential school on their reserve.

Piikani Nation Chief and Counsel recognize that there are plenty of questions with respect to potential unmarked graves around the old residential schools. We want members of our Nation to know that we are dedicating significant time and resources to this issue. We will keep the membership notified during all stages of this process. ­
