Our community is built on shared stories, collective progress, and a deep connection to our land and culture. To ensure our newsletter truly reflects the heart of our people, we are inviting community members, local organizations, and Nation leadership and departments to contribute to our upcoming 2026 Spring Piikani Nation Newsletter.
Whether you have a success story to share, an upcoming event to promote, or an update on departmental initiatives, we want to hear from you.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome a diverse range of content, including:
- Community Highlights: Achievements and local hero spotlights.
- Organizational Updates: News from local non-profits, sports teams, or social groups.
- Leadership & Departmental Reports: Updates on projects, policy changes, and community services.
- Cultural & Seasonal Stories: Traditional knowledge sharing, recipes, or reflections on Piikani life.
- Announcements: Workshops and public meetings.
- External Organizations: Inviting contributions from community external organizations, allies and partners.
Bear in mind the print date and deadline for each edition and plan your submissions accordingly.
Submission Guidelines
To keep our newsletter organized and professional, please follow these simple steps:
- Format: Submit text via Word document or directly in the body of an email.
- Word Count:
- Short Notices: 50–150 words.
- Feature Articles: minimum of 300 words.
- Imagery: We highly encourage high-resolution photos (JPEG or PNG). Please ensure you have permission from everyone appearing in the photo.
- Deadline: Submissions are due by March 6th, 2026 for our 2026 spring edition.
- Print & Distribution: The newsletter will be printed and distributed to all Nation members late March 2026 to early April 2026. The digital version will be available on our website and Facebook page. Print versions typically take 2 to 4 weeks to compile and distribute.

Respectful Content Policy
To maintain a positive and constructive space for all Nation members, all submissions must adhere to the following:
- Respectful Dialogue: Content must be free of profanity, personal attacks, or defamatory language.
- Community Focus: We prioritize content that informs, inspires, or provides a direct service to the Piikani Nation.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Submissions should be mindful of Piikani protocols and traditional values.
- Accuracy: Leadership and departmental updates should be verified for accuracy before submission.
The editorial team reserves the right to edit submissions for length, clarity, and alignment with community standards.
